KUALA LUMPUR: Cancer Research Malaysia (CRMY), the official Terry Fox Run copyright holder and beneficiary in Malaysia, invites Malaysians to lace up for a meaningful cause as the Terry Fox Run 2026 returns this September with two community runs in Melaka and Shah Alam.
Inspired by Terry Fox’s extraordinary Marathon of Hope, the Terry Fox Run has grown into one of the world’s largest fundraising movements for cancer research. After losing his right leg to bone cancer at the age of 18, Terry embarked on an ambitious cross-country run across Canada in 1980 to raise funds and awareness for cancer research.
Although he was forced to stop after running 5,373 kilometres due to the spread of his cancer, his courage and determination continue to inspire millions around the world.
Cancer Research Malaysia has been organising the Terry Fox Run in Malaysia under its stewardship as the official Terry Fox Run copyright holder for many years, bringing communities together to honour Terry’s legacy while raising funds to support life-saving cancer research that benefits Malaysians and Asians.
As the official Terry Fox Run copyright holder in Malaysia, CRMY oversees the organisation of Terry Fox Runs nationwide, with any independently organised Terry Fox Run requiring the organisation’s approval.
