KUALA LUMPUR: Laughter takes centre stage once again as Cancer Research Malaysia (CRMY) proudly presents Life Is Funny: Hat-Trick, the third instalment of its signature charity comedy series, bringing together humour, music, and purpose in support of life saving cancer research.
Following the success of previous editions, this year’s event promises a bigger, bolder, and more impactful experience. Taking place on July 9, 2026 at HGH Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur, the show is expected to welcome over 1,100 attendees for an unforgettable evening of entertainment with meaning.
Headlining the night is regional comedy icon Gurmit Singh, widely recognised for his legendary role as Phua Chu Kang, whose sharp wit and enduring appeal have captivated audiences across Asia. He is joined by a dynamic line-up including Mad Sabah, rising star of Malaysia’s comedy scene, and Jessica Loo, whose electrifying violin performances add a unique musical dimension to the show.
Hosting the evening is the charismatic Datuk Leonard Tan, a long-time supporter of CRMY and a celebrated entertainer known for his versatility and stage presence.
More than just a night of laughter, Life Is Funny: Hat-Trick transforms conversations around cancer into something approachable and engaging using humour as a bridge to drive awareness, early detection, and meaningful action.
To make the experience even more memorable, the event introduces creatively themed ticket categories that reflect the spirit of the night:
• First Funnies (Early Bird)
• Tickle Spot (Standard Seating)
• Chuckle Zone (Gold Seating)
• Giggle Zone (Platinum Seating)
Each category is designed to bring guests closer to the action whether you’re easing into the evening with a smile or enjoying the show from the best seats in the house.
Life Is Funny is not just entertainment, it’s about finding strength through laughter.

With cancer cases continuing to rise in Malaysia, funds raised from the event will directly support CRMY’s ongoing research efforts, particularly in cancers that disproportionately affect Asian populations, including breast, head & neck, oral and nasopharyngeal cancers.
Corporate partners and sponsors play a critical role in amplifying this impact. The event offers a high visibility platform for organisations to align with a meaningful cause while demonstrating their commitment to community health, sustainability, and social responsibility.
Tickets and partnership opportunities are now available. Join us for a night where every laugh contributes to a life-saving mission.
