JOHOR BAHRU: White Hall Event Space, situated in Kempas Lama, Johor Bahru, is embodying the essence of community support this Ramadan by organizing a unique Iftar dinner for children courageously fighting cancer.
The event, characterized by compassion and joy, welcomed 15 children along with 16 guardians to a touching dinner at White Hall Event Space.
This meaningful gathering was carefully designed to foster happiness, hope, and encouragement for these young cancer fighters and their devoted families who stand by them every day.

Upon their arrival, the children and their guardians received a heartfelt welcome from Hanafi Abdullah, the assistant general manager of White Hall Event Space, accompanied by his committed management team.
They made exceptional efforts to foster an environment filled with love, care, and support, ensuring that all attendees felt appreciated and included.
The primary objective was to offer the children and their families a chance to experience an evening devoid of the pressures and difficulties associated with cancer, enabling them to concentrate on joy and togetherness.
The evening began with a special reception that highlighted the significance of generosity and community engagement, particularly during the sacred month of Ramadan. This period is characterized by a strong focus on charity, compassion, and empathy, all of which were prominently reflected in the event.
Hanafi stressed that the primary aim of this initiative was to offer moral support to those in need, demonstrating that they are valued and remembered during this meaningful time.
He also shared a poignant personal story, revealing that he lost his daughter to cancer nearly two years ago, which added a profound emotional depth to his message and resonated strongly with the attendees.
Hanafi expressed during his heartfelt speech that the team is committed to the values of sharing and compassion, particularly during festive times when those in need require additional support and kindness.
He acknowledged the struggles faced by individuals, stating, “You are confronting challenges that no one should have to face, yet you do so with remarkable grace and unwavering resolve each day.”
Hanafi then shifted his focus to the parents and guardians, recognizing the profound love and support they offer their children.

“The path you tread is challenging, yet your unwavering commitment instills hope and resilience in your children. You serve as their foundation of strength, and your deep care for them is evident, even during the most difficult times,” providing them with reassurance and motivation,” he remarked.
During the event, Hanafi highlighted the strong conviction held by White Hall Event Space and its partners, Savanna Hill Resort in Ulu Tiram and Kelab Kopi Lama in Kempas, in the values of community, love, care, and hope.
“We are here to support you, and we want to remind you that you are never alone in this fight. Together, we will continue to believe, hope, and support one another,” he stated.
He went on to emphasize the organization’s dedication to positively influence the community, especially for those enduring challenging situations.
In the evening, the guardians recounted their heartfelt experiences of aiding their young fighters in their struggles against cancer, particularly during the challenging chemotherapy treatments.
The narratives of resilience, strength, and steadfast courage resonated with all attendees, profoundly inspiring everyone with the bravery displayed by both the children and their caregivers.
Following the official ceremonies and a significant group photograph, the children and their guardians enjoyed a sumptuous buka puasa meal that included more than 100 dishes.

This Iftar dinner transcended the simple act of breaking fast; it served as a platform for fostering meaningful relationships, spreading joy, and elevating the spirits of those in need.
The beaming smiles, laughter, and expressions of gratitude from the children and their families underscored the success of this compassionate initiative, embodying the true spirit of Ramadan: the sharing of blessings and the demonstration of empathy towards others during challenging times.
Addressing the gathering earlier, Hanafi said, “As we gather today for this special Iftar, I want to extend my heartfelt welcome to all of you, especially the brave children who inspire us every day with their strength and courage.”
Ramadan, he said is a time for reflection, gratitude, and coming together as a community, and we are truly honored to share this blessed evening with you.
Turning to the young heroes, he said, “Your resilience in the face of such challenges is a reminder to all of us of the power of hope and determination. You show us what it means to be strong, to keep smiling, and to fight with all your heart.”
Not mincing his words, he said, today is not just about breaking fast, but about celebrating your spirit and letting you know that we are here to support you.
“We are privileged to be a part of this moment, and I want you to know that you are not alone on this journey. May this Iftar bring you joy, comfort, and strength. We are all rooting for your success and well-being,” he added.
