JOHOR BAHRU: There are no shortcuts to success, but that doesn’t mean success is not obtainable. Sure, the journey is always longer, more difficult, and time consuming than we initially anticipate.

But, just like everything else in life, that which is fought for most vigorously is cherished most ardently.

In life, everyone has goals and aspirations. We work hard towards achieving these objectives. Sometimes, we get what we want. Other times, we fall short.

Regardless of whether we succeed or fail, we get to a result. These are therefore factors that allow people to judge progress and provide further motivation in creating avenues for movement towards milestones in life. Results are vital in making sure that the wheels of life keep spinning.

Exams can often feel overwhelming, but with the right mindset and motivation, you can conquer any challenge that comes your way.

Six form six former students of SMK Sultan Ismail proved that exams are not mere hurdles, but stepping stones towards their aspirations.

The six Kua Jun Xuan, Skantha Mano Kumar, Liew Ka Yan, Hani Nurulhidayah Aep, Ameera Asmaa Haroon and Ng Yi Qing have proved that the path to success is paved with the stones of the persistent effort.

They were on cloud nine when ApaKhabar TV spoke to them soon after receiving their STPM results.

Kua Jun Xuan, 20, who scored a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 4.0 said many people were behind his success.

He attributed his success to his mother who was there for him at all times.

“It was my mother who was there for me staying up late night and kept watch over me,” he said.

Kua also credited his tuition teacher who facilitated much in his studies.

He stressed that many students today are reluctant to take Form 6 as they consider it only the last choice.

“For many students if they are unable to gain entry into matriculation then only they would decide to pursue their Form 6,” he said.

He plans to pursue a course in Electrical Engineering as he believes it is the most futuristic field and with the knowledge he gets he is able to serve the nation.

“Your dedication, your perseverance, and your unwavering focus are the keys to unlocking your full potential,” he stated.

Skantha Mano Kumar also 20, scored a CGPA of 3.59 and ascribed his success to his mother.

“My mother is my hero as she has sacrificed a lot for me while I was preparing for my studies,” he said with a beam.

Skantha said his mother burned the midnight oil and kept awake for him until pre-dawn.

He also recalled that his friends had formed study groups and it was here that they discussed and shared ideas.

Not mincing his words, he said he acknowledged the sacrifices made by his teachers too.

He plans to pursue a degree in Economics in a public university.

20 year-old Liew Ka Yan threw herself into her studies and was rewarded with a CGPA of 4.0 in the 2023 STPM examination.

“From day one, I knew I had to give my all if I wanted results. I spent hours studying,” she emphasized.

She alleged that her mother had been her pillar of strength ever since she was young.

“Being a single mother she had to work to support my younger sister and me,” she said, adding that she hoped to major in Chemistry.

She also said her former school teachers gave her lots of assistance and for this she is ever grateful.

“I have applied for scholarship to a few foundations and NGOs and are awaiting for their response,” she asserted.

Hani Nurulhidayah Aep applauded her teachers for being at her side at all times.

The 20-year old girl who scored a CGPA of 3.92 said she never expected to get this outstanding result.

“It came as a surprise to me and I knew it was because of my sheer hard work I was able to do well,” she noted.

She ascribed her high scoring to her close friends who had been her guide and light at all times.

Hani wants to apply to any public universities and pursue a course of her choice.

When Ameera Asmaa Haroon received her results she could not believe her eyes.

Ameera who is 20-years old admitted that her parents had been by her side at all times.

“My mother is a teacher and she gave me all the help that I needed,” she contended.

She had to wake up very early and uses social media to do her study with her friends.

She has applied to a few universities and hope to get a favourable response.

Ng Yi Qing,20, said the path to success is paved with the stones of your persistent effort.

Ng said each exam is not just a test of knowledge, but a testament to your dedication, your resilience, and your unwavering belief in your abilities.

She said it was her diligent hard work, focus that illuminated her path to greatness.

“I was able to follow what my school teachers taught and always kept abreast and that helped me,” she said.

She accredited her friends who had been with her at all times.

She also expressed gratitude to her family for being there for her at all times.

As the six students are electrified with their achievement, this puts them one step closer to fulfilling their dream.

All their dreams can come true if they have the courage to pursue them.

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.
