A Grey Heron with an eel or a sea-snake in its beak, I could not make out what it caught because too far and was covered in mud, and later the Grey Heron held it with one of its feet, as it fought off an aggressive Brahminy Kite making many attempts to steal the meal away from the Grey Heron.

Unfortunately the efforts of the Grey Heron was in vain, as the Brahminy Kite made a dive and in a flash grabbed and flew off with the catch.

A rare sighting indeed, two large birds fighting over a meal for survival.

Malaysian nature is richly diverse in its biodiversity, some are unique.

We need to work together to create awareness and support efforts to ensure the sustainability of the nation’s flora and fauna.
