Part of the experience of growing up in Malaysia must include the annual sports day held by all schools in Malaysia.
These events are always colorful and great fun for the kids and their families.
As any sporting activities, they help develop self-confidence, teamwork and sense of accomplishment as the kids race against each other in front of cheering crowds, including their families, and winning prizes.
The other day, I went to the SJK (C) Damansara Sports Day.
As expected, it was fun-filled and colorful. Nothing gives more positive energy than to be surrounded by hundreds of happy kids.
The main difference I noticed with the school sports day when I was a kid, was that in the old days we did not have loudspeakers blaring the latest popular pop songs.
I cannot remember what they did but it was much quieter back then.
