Çanakkale, Turkey: After their boats were allegedly pushed into Turkish territorial waters by Greek elements, 84 migrants were rescued off the coast of Ayvacık district near here on Sunday.

The Turkish Coast Guard Northern Aegean Group Command detected the presence of migrants in rubber dinghies off Ayvacık in the Northern Aegean sea and immediately directed three Coast Guard vessels to rescue them.

Upon being rescued, the 84 migrants from Afghanistan who did not possess valid travel documents alleged that their rubber dinghies were pushed into Turkish territorial waters by Greek elements.

After being processed, the migrants were transferred to the Ayvacık Security Directorate Foreigners
