JOHOR BAHRU: The spirit of youth leadership and service shone brightly as the Rotaract Club of Johor Bahru (RCJB) celebrated its 4th Installation Ceremony, marking a new chapter under the leadership of incoming president Iris Ang Hui Hua.
The event brought together Rotaractors, Rotarians, and guests in a night that blended purpose with camaraderie — honouring the club’s past achievements while setting an inspired course for the year ahead.
The evening unfolded with heartfelt speeches from the organising chairman, the outgoing president, and the newly installed president, each reflecting on RCJB’s journey of growth and commitment to community service.

The guest of honour’s address further underscored the value of youth-driven initiatives in shaping a more compassionate and resilient society, offering words of encouragement to the new board as they take on fresh challenges and opportunities.
Adding a touch of fun and fellowship, guests were treated to lighthearted magic tricks, games, and performances that kept the room filled with laughter and applause.
The event concluded on a high note with a group photo session — a symbolic capture of unity and friendship — and a dinner shared among members and guests, celebrating not only leadership, but the enduring bonds that power the Rotaract spirit.
In her opening address, Organising Chairperson Trisha Mabini Thinagaran set a lively tone for the evening, welcoming distinguished guests, Rotarians, Rotaractors, and friends to what she described as the start of “a brand-new adventure.”
“It’s-a me, your Organising Chairperson, Trisha, and I’m thrilled to see all of you here tonight as we press Start on a new adventure together,” she said with a smile — a nod to the evening’s playful, video game-inspired theme.
Trisha likened the club’s progress to a game powered by teamwork and perseverance.

“Tonight, we’re not just celebrating a change of leadership but also the power-ups we’ve gained over the past year. Each challenge we’ve faced has only made our club stronger — just like Mario after grabbing a Super Star!,” she said.
She also encouraged members and guests to embrace the night as a chance to reconnect and recharge.
“As we journey through this evening filled with laughter, good food, and memorable performances, I invite you to connect, share stories, and collect new ‘coins’ of friendship and inspiration.”
Trisha extended heartfelt gratitude to the event committee and the club’s board of directors, calling them “the real heroes behind the scenes.”
“Without their dedication, we wouldn’t have made it to this next level,” she added.
Ending her speech on a spirited note, Trisha urged everyone to “grab your mushrooms of motivation” and continue powering up together toward another incredible year of service.
“Once again, welcome to the Rotaract Club of Johor Bahru’s Installation Night,” she concluded. “Let’s make this night a 1-Up memory for everyone — let’s-a go!”
Outgoing president Vikrant Sangar delivered a moving farewell address — a speech that resonated deeply with gratitude, humility, and an enduring belief in the power of service.

“Dear Rotarians, sponsors, district leaders, and fellow Rotaractors,” he began, his tone both reflective and resolute. “As I wrap up my term as President, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has played a part in shaping our club into what it is today.”
Sangar’s message was one of appreciation and shared achievement. He extended sincere thanks to the club’s guiding Rotarians, generous sponsors, passionate Rotaractors, and the ever-supportive District team — all of whom, he emphasized, had been instrumental in driving the club’s momentum.
“We may not have grown in numbers, but we have grown in spirit and capability,” Sangar said, acknowledging the intangible strength that had defined his term. He reflected on the year’s hallmark initiatives — from the club’s annual Old Folks Home visit to regional beach clean-ups and the Joint District Rotaract Conference co-hosted with district leaders — each event, he noted, a testament to what collective purpose can accomplish.
But beyond accomplishments, it was unity that Sangar celebrated most. “What truly defined our journey was our shared belief that when we come together for good, we become more than the sum of our parts,” he shared. “Through service, we’ve not only touched lives but also discovered our own potential to grow, lead, and inspire.”
His words captured the very essence of the Rotaract spirit — one that transcends individual achievement to build something enduring, rooted in compassion and service.
Looking to the future, Sangar called on the club to strengthen its foundation. “As we move forward, our focus will be on strengthening our membership — ensuring we have the people, passion, and capacity to continue executing impactful projects.”
His optimism was clear: the groundwork laid during his presidency, he said, was only the beginning. “With this foundation, the best is yet to come.”

Before concluding, Sangar turned his attention to his successor, incoming president Iris Ang, offering words of encouragement and trust. “To my successor, Iris — lead with heart, vision, and courage, and continue striving to bring our club to greater heights.”
With that, the outgoing president received a warm round of applause — not just for his leadership, but for his genuine spirit of service. His farewell was not an end, but a quiet passing of the torch — a reminder that in the Rotaract Club of Johor Bahru, leadership is not merely a role, but a shared journey of growth, purpose, and unity.
With poise and heartfelt conviction, newly installed President Iris Ang took the podium at the Rotaract Club of Johor Bahru’s 4th Installation Night, marking the beginning of the 2025–2026 term with a powerful message of unity, service, and purpose.
“It is with immense gratitude and deep humility that I accept the role of President of the Rotaract Club of Johor Bahru,” she began, expressing both pride and reverence for the club’s enduring legacy. “This role is not just a personal milestone, but a continuation of the vision and dedication built by the passionate leaders who came before me.”
Ang described Rotaract as “more than just a platform for community service,” calling it instead a movement — one driven by young leaders who believe in action, compassion, and the collective power to create change. With energy and optimism, she shared her vision for the year ahead under the theme “Unite for Good”, a call for members to move forward together, blending service with solidarity.
“This journey is not mine alone. It belongs to all of us,” she affirmed, turning her attention to her newly appointed Board of Directors. She thanked them for embracing the call to serve, expressing confidence in their shared commitment to lead with purpose and heart.
In a moment of reflection, Ang extended her appreciation to outgoing president Vikrant Sangar, acknowledging his steady leadership and friendship over the past two years. “Thank you for your unwavering support and guidance — not just as a leader, but as a friend,” she said warmly, drawing applause from the audience.
Her gratitude also reached the club’s mentors, sponsors, and the Rotary Club of Johor Bahru, whose support she credited as the backbone of Rotaract’s growth and resilience. “Thank you for believing in us, guiding us, and standing by us through every challenge,” she noted.

As she concluded her address, Ang issued a rallying call to all Rotaractors — both new and seasoned — to take ownership of their club’s future. “Let your voice be heard, your ideas explored, and your passion fuel our progress,” she urged.
“Together, let us make 2025–2026 a year to remember — not just for the milestones we achieve, but for the lives we touch, the friendships we build, and the growth we experience.”
With those words, a new chapter began for the Rotaract Club of Johor Bahru — one anchored in unity, driven by purpose, and guided by the spirit of service above self.
Also, gracing the occasion were Rotarian Gan Chin Soon, Youth Service Director, Dervin Lua Wei Jun, District Rotaract Representative from Singapore, and several dedicated Rotarians who turned up in full support.
Their presence lent a spirit of encouragement and solidarity, reflecting the enduring bond between the Rotary and its Rotaract counterparts.
As the evening drew to a close, laughter and camaraderie filled the air — a fitting reflection of the unity and youthful spirit that define the Rotaract Club of Johor Bahru.
The 4th Installation Ceremony not only marked a seamless transition of leadership but also reaffirmed the club’s commitment to service, fellowship and personal growth.
With renewed energy under the leadership of President Iris Ang, RCJB looks ahead to another year of impactful initiatives and meaningful connections that continue to embody the Rotaract motto: “Fellowship through Service.”
