Hosting its annual Chinese New Year preview and charity dinner, the hotel spreads its joy and blessings to media representatives, residents and caretakers from Pertubuhan Kebajikan Sejahtera Ulu Tiram and Rumah Orang Tua Sukarela Pandan and other guests.

This meaningful event showcased the hotel’s specially curated Chinese New Year buffet dinner and brought together the spirit of celebration and charity for the evening.

In his welcome address, the hotel’s marketing & communications manager Joshua Wong said that as they are gathered here to mark the upcoming year of the snake, all are reminded of the importance of joy, gratitude, and togetherness.

“We are honored to share this meaningful occasion with some truly special guests,” said Joshua.

Residents and caretakers from Pertubuhan Kebajikan Sejahtera Ulu Tiram and Tumah Orang Tua Sukarela Pandan were present to join in the celebration and dinner.

Residents later received ‘ang pows’ and goody bags from the hotel manager much to the joy of the elderly.

The red colour of the envelope signifies good luck and is a symbol to ward off evil spirits, with illustrations that typically bestow blessings and good wishes of longevity, prosperity, and good health to the recipient.

Joshua also welcomed members of the media who has been providing continuous support to the establishment.

All present were entertained by some talented performers from Concerto Music School Bandar Dato Onn who gave a splendid performance that enthralled the audience.

“We hope tonight’s event brings warmth and cheer to everyone as we embrace the festive spirit of Chinese New Year,” he stressed.

Speaking on the significance of the event, he said at Thistle Johor Bahru, they believe in celebrating festivals by giving back to the community.

He said today’s event is a reflection of that belief, as they aim to spread joy and create memories with their wonderful guests and partners.

He also went on to say that this evening is also a chance to present their Chinese New Year Buffet Dinner Preview, which has been expertly prepared by their culinary team to give those present a sneak peek at the festivities to come.

The audience were mesmerized by the enchanting instrumental performance by the talented teachers and students of Concerto Music School. They rendered six entrancing pieces to bring in the festive spirit.

Hotel manager Owen Lim later presented a certificate of appreciation to Vivien Tan, representative of Concerto Music School for their outstanding role in making the event a success.

Along with everyone’s hopes and desires for the year of the snake, the evening also included a heated prosperity toss (Lou Sang) with the media.
