
JOHOR BAHRU: In less than four days Muslims will be marking Hari Raya Aidilfitri and Trove Hotel decided to bring smiles to some 20 orphans by giving back to the community, especially during the holy month, a time of compassion and generosity.
The children ages 7 – 14 years from Pusat Penghuni Rumah Anak-Anak Yatim Shafar and their caretakers were feted to a sumptuous Ramadan buffet dinner.
The hotel recognizes the importance of supporting those in need, particularly during Ramadan when acts of charity and kindness hold special significance.

Trove Hotel general manager Mahadi Mathana said, “There is no greater joy than making others happy, bringing smiles to the children and spreading good cheer during Ramadan and welcoming the Hari Raya season.”
“It is a season of giving, sharing and caring, and the hotel staff was happy to be with the children,” he said, adding that he was glad that the children enjoyed themselves.
He said Hari Raya is just a few days away, so we want to spread the cheer a little earlier and the hotel wanted to do their part in helping needy children.
“It is a semi-formal event where we want the children to feel comfortable and most importantly, it should be fun while spreading the merriment,” he stressed.
“Our CSR program during this holy month is a reflection of our core values and commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others,” he elaborated.
He said the goal of today’s event is to honour the underprivileged in this wonderful month of Ramadan, and fortify interpersonal bonds.

Not mincing his words, Mahadi said the hotel aims to provide a source of joy and support to those in need, helping to create lasting memories and experiences for the children and their caretakers.
“We believe in the spirit of giving back to the community, and this initiative allows us to support orphanage children during this auspicious month,” he explained.
The Ramadan buffet had all the right elements for a cosy and down to earth experience right from the choice of the traditional dishes served to the top hawker delights offered.
Themed Destinasi Selera Buffet Dinner the spread focused on kampong-style cooking using traditional recipes. It turned out to be a hit with the children and others.

This culinary extravaganza not only delights the taste buds but also serves as an opportunity for guests to support the hotel’s CSR initiatives, with a portion of the proceeds going towards charitable causes.
As soon as it was time to break-fast, the children made a beeline towards the hawker stations where the chefs were whipping up dishes and frying stuff on the spot.
The fried kuay teow, satay, udang galak, ketam goreng, nasi beriani kambing, ikan tenggiri kari and mee goreng mamak were one of the top choices while the local food seemed to be the preferred choice for both the adults and children.

The hotel’s personnel also helped in making the children feel at home while relishing the hotel’s buka puasa menu.
The children and guests were seen savouring the countless delicacies of the various states in the federation at the stalls.
Mahadi emphasized that the hotel would always support any initiative by any orphanages or welfare homes in helping lower-income families.
“A little kindness goes a long way in instilling happiness and smiles on the faces of the children,” he added.
Before leaving the children were given a goody bag each and duit raya.
