JOHOR BAHRU: Amidst the bustling holiday season, Opero Hotel Southkey illuminated the hearts of its esteemed visitors, families and friends at their annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony, infusing the air with a message that transcends festive cheer: the spirit of hope.
The tree lighting has become a cornerstone of community gatherings during the holiday season. The event not only brings people together to celebrate but also encourages a sense of unity and togetherness.
Its natural beauty is further enhanced by the holiday decorations and hundreds of twinkling lights adorning the tree, shimmering ornaments making it look resplendent for such a joyous celebration.

The tree adorned with dazzling lights, red and gold ornaments and a star atop the tree, took center stage, exuding an ethereal glow that captivated the onlookers.
Each ornament stood not only as a magnificent design but as a metaphorical representation, with the red decors reflecting warmth, comfort, and the love shared among family and friends during the festive season, and the gold blings bringing light, wealth and happiness.
The momentous gathering, attended by esteemed corporate guests and local social media influencers transformed the hotel into a captivating spectacle as the lights illuminated the night.
Below the tree a cute reindeer stands looking up with gifts wrapped in gold wrappings lay below the tree.
The Christmas tree lighting was led by the hotel directors Nor Aisyah Mohamed Zaini and Datuk Mohamed Zaini Amran.
With a flick of a switch, the Christmas tree illuminated the lobby of the hotel casting a magical glow.
Later in his speech Mohamed Zaini said Christmas had always been one of the most anticipated times for the hotel.
“In a world where hope is more vital than ever, our ceremony symbolizes a collective wish for brighter days and shared joy.”
Mohamed Zaini then thanked everyone for partaking in the tree lighting ceremony and making it a memorable one.

“Your presence and contributions are poised to make a meaningful impact bringing warmth and joy to everyone during this festive season,” he said.
Meanwhile the hotel’s acting general manager Jalaludeen Ariff said this year’s Christmas lighting ceremony is more than an event – it’s a celebration of warmth and joy, mirroring Opero’s ethos.
“Our prime location near key hubs and attractions enhances the festive experience for our guests, especially those from Singapore,” he remarked.
Jalaludeen stressed that they are proud to offer an experience that blends festive cheer with their unique Johor cultural and culinary offerings.
Opero hotel purchasing manager Alice Ganang said Christmas had always been the most anticipated times for the hotel.
“Since its holiday season in Malaysia and Singapore many families will want to come for holiday here in Johor Bahru,” she told ApaKhabar TV.
She pointed out that with the visa relaxation for Chinese nationals many will seize the opportunity to come to Johor for holidaying.
“We expect to see a good number of visitors from Singapore in view of their one month school break with many wanting to celebrate Christmas here,” she enthused.
She said with the Malaysian ringgit getting weaker against the Singapore dollar, many may choose Johor as the preferred pastime to enjoy the food and hotel stay.
She stressed that the hotel has been performing Christmas charity events to show gratitude and support to the local community.
She also said that the hotel will continue with its care back to the local community and bring the most memorable and meaningful experience to the needy as life is better when shared.
This resplendent occasion would not be complete without festive treat from its host. Attendees were treated to a magnificent dinner at the Oliva Café. Guests enjoyed an array of delectable dishes and a festive ambiance that will transport guests into a world of joy and celebration.
Most of the guests enjoyed the presence of Santa Claus and Santarina who had given away Christmas gifts to those present, further immersing everyone in the joyful Christmas atmosphere.
