MY previous posting shared a visit to the spectacular Masjid Al-Badr, Pangkor Island’s floating mosque.
Nearby there is another interesting and beautiful mosque with a unique Chinese architecture, the Masjid Al-Khairiah at Sungai Pinang Kecil on Pangkor Island.
The Masjid Al-Khairiah is one of the 4 mosques in Malaysia with Chinese architecture design, and the smallest.
The other mosques are the Masjid Cina, Rantau Panjang in Kelantan, the Masjid Muhamadiah, Ipoh in Perak, and the Masjid Cina Negeri Melaka (Al Muttaqin) in Melaka.
The walls of the mosque are richly adorn with prayers from the Quran and hadith, and hence the mosque is also known as Masjid Seribu Doa or Mosque of 1,000 Prayers.
Discovering beautiful Malaysia.
