JOHOR BARU: Sharing with the less fortunate is by itself a charitable act, even more so in the month of Ramadhan.

Some 30 students from the underprivileged families and orphanage, aged 7 to 12 from the Maahad Tahfiz Az-Zahra in Gelang Patah joined the Ramadan preview in Fraser Place Puteri Harbour recently.

“This is the season full of glory and various kinds of blessings for Muslims,” said Fraser’s Place Puteri Harbour general manager Johnny Lau.

The children were treated to a night of delightful performances. In addition, they were given duit raya.

“As Malaysia moves forward in this new normal, Ramadhan gives us time to reflect and give thanks,” he said.

There were joy and smiles on the faces of the children as they went up the stage to receive the duit raya from Lau.

“We believe in giving back to the community and also in a way these children could use the money for the coming Hari Raya celebrations,” said Lau.

As part of the hotel’s efforts to build a better future for those in need, Fraser’s Place Puteri Harbour will continue to support meaningful initiatives that contribute to the building of a caring community.

“It is our hope that these children will be cheered on and excited to celebrate the coming Ramadhan,” he remarked.

He stressed that the hotel is happy to extend whatever assistance to these children and hope to shower them with blessings and some cheer even if it is in a small way.

“We always have a heart for the downtrodden and wish to uplift their spirits, as a sign of gratitude to society,” said Lau.

It was an evening to remember as the children enjoyed the food and really had a wonderful time at the hotel.

This charity event is part of the hotel’s sharing and caring community commitments.

Lau and his management staff then helped the children pick out items from the buffet line and also spent quality time chatting with the children.

According to Lau, the hotel will continue to support underprivileged children from other charity homes to show its caring side.

The children were able to enjoy the Ramadhan preview while experiencing the communal warmth of kampong-style dining at its Swatches Restaurant.

Fraser Place Puteri Harbour was opened in 2018. The hotel is an excellent choice for those visiting Johor Baru. The hotel with its 297 units of chic and stylish accommodation is suitable for a wide range of travellers, including business travellers, families, and couples.
