Just four months ago, Husni Che Ngah and his wife Jazmah Abdullah, two macro photographers, dreamed of holding an exhibition to showcase their work.
And on May 3, their dream came true and held not one but two exhibitions – one at University Malaysia Terengganu’s library and the other at the sky platform above the famous drawbridge overlooking Sungai Terengganu.
The exhibitions will end on June 3, but the elated couple said they would continue at Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) shortly after the first exhibition ends.
Husni said it took a lot of work to get the selected pictures mounted on boards and editing of a video to be showcased to the public.
“We spent a lot of time and money to get the exhibition going and UMT was kind enough to allow us to display the macro pictures at its library.

“Admission is free at UMT and we are happy with the attendance,” said Husni who selected some rare close-up pictures of insects and amphibians
Their work will never end as they will be out looking for other subjects and for a start, UMT wanted the couple to record all insects and animals within the university’s campus ground in Mengabang Telipot.
“Our bigger dream is to hold a bigger exhibition simply because we have thousands of pictures which describe the natural kaleidoscope, especially insects, of Terengganu.
“Our stockpile of pictures keep growing and we want to share it with the public, especially those still schooling.
“Some field work experience will be a good diversion from the four walls of a classroom,” he said.
The exposure by ApakhabarTV.com about their hobby on Jan 10 helped a lot in promoting macro photography to the public.
“We get many request to conduct seminars and workshop. It will be another dream come true when we can hold such events.
“But at the moment we want to enjoy sharing the fruits of our labour with the public,” he added.
